Duomo of Salò, Gothic cathedral in Salò, Italy
The Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata displays tall vertical lines, pointed arches, and detailed stone carvings throughout its architectural structure.
Construction of the cathedral started in 1401 under architect Filippo Dalle Vacche, replacing an earlier religious structure that existed on the site.
The cathedral contains numerous art pieces, including works by Romanino, Moretto da Brescia, and a grand polyptych made of gilded wood from 1510.
The cathedral opens daily for visits and religious services, with guided tours available to explore the architectural features and art collection.
The main entrance features a monumental portal created between 1506 and 1508 by sculptors Gasparo Cairano and Antonio Mangiacavalli.
