Duomo of Salò

The Cathedral of Salò is a Gothic church building featuring tall spires and pointed roof work. The structure displays characteristic Gothic details including pointed arches, fine stonework, and a monumental entry portal on its front facade.

Construction began in the early 15th century to replace an older temple on this site. Work on the entrance portal followed about a century later, showing the long building phases of this cathedral.

Inside, works by local artists shape how the community expresses its faith through sacred imagery. The gilded wood carvings and paintings create a warm setting where visitors sense the town's spiritual connection over centuries.

Visitors can enter during regular opening hours to see the interior and observe religious services. Guided tours are available to learn about the architectural features and artworks inside.

The main portal was created by two local sculptors in the early 1500s and serves as a valuable entrance feature. This decorative gateway sets this cathedral apart from other similar buildings in the region.
