The museum occupies a former 16th-century church of Santa Giustina near Lungolago Zanardelli lakefront, displaying collections of art, science, and local heritage.
The institution preserves documents and artifacts from the 15th century Venetian rule through World War II, including the period when Salò served as capital.
The museum exhibits the Contrabasso Biondo instrument created by renowned luthier Gasparo da Salò and contains anatomical specimens from surgeon Giovan Battista Rini.
Visitors can access the museum daily from 10:00 to 20:00 between June and September, while other months maintain 10:00 to 19:00 operating hours.
The collection includes 18th and 19th-century seismic recording devices from the Pio Bettoni observatory and houses Italy's only Nastro Azzurro Military Museum.
