Giant's garden, Public park in Cento, Italy
Giant's Garden is a public park in Cento featuring ceramic mosaic sculptures, including a massive lizard, a walkable cage, and various oversized animal figures. The grounds offer pathways through these artistic installations and display different forms and colors at every turn.
The project was created between 2000 and 2006 by artist Marco Pellizzola, inspired by a story written by his daughter. This tale became the foundation for shaping the entire park with its distinctive figures.
The garden displays ceramic artworks that blend with the changing seasons and invite people to touch and explore at many spots. Visitors can experience the ornate mosaics up close and understand how art has become woven into the natural surroundings.
The park is accessible during daylight hours from sunrise to sunset with free entry, so visitors can stop by anytime. The pathways are suitable for walkers of all abilities and the installations can be viewed from many vantage points.
A large blackbird and an enormous leaf stand among the ceramic creatures and catch the eye with their unusual forms. These two works differ greatly from the animal figures and give the park an unexpected artistic element.
