Museo Casa Natale di Michelangelo Buonarroti

The museum consists of three connected buildings within ancient castle walls, featuring plaster casts of Michelangelo's major sculptural accomplishments and contemporary artworks.

The fortress, constructed around 1000 CE, gained prominence as the birthplace of Michelangelo on March 6, 1475, when his father served as local podesta.

The exhibition spaces display an extensive collection of sculptures from various periods, including works by influential artists such as Gemito, Canova, and Boccioni.

Located at Via Capoluogo 1 in Caprese Michelangelo, the museum welcomes visitors throughout the year and recorded 8,518 visitors in 2021.

The museum combines historical preservation with modern artistic expression through its Guidoni Collection, representing the evolution of sculptural techniques across centuries.
