Permanent Nativity Museum of Dalmine

The Permanent Nativity Museum of Dalmine is a religious museum displaying over 900 nativity scenes and Christmas objects across more than 1,200 square meters of exhibition space. The collection includes works from various craft traditions and artistic styles from across the country.

Don Giacomo Piazzoli founded the museum in 1974 to preserve nativity scene traditions and religious art collections. His dedication created a space that documents these artistic and religious practices for future generations.

The collection displays nativity scenes from different Italian regions, each reflecting distinct artistic traditions. Visitors can observe how various areas have developed their own ways of representing the Christmas story.

The museum has varying opening hours that change with the seasons, offering extended access during the Christmas period. Visitors should plan ahead, as guided tours are available and a specialized library invites exploration.

A work by artist Antonio Greco displays a nativity diorama with 130 statues spread across a sizable area, offering visitors an exceptionally detailed scene. Additionally, the museum houses a rare Neapolitan nativity from the 18th century, reflecting the craftsmanship quality of that period.
