Pinacoteca Mus'a al Canopoleno

The National Picture Gallery of Sassari holds over 400 paintings and graphic works ranging from medieval periods to modern artworks within its exhibition spaces.

The museum occupies the former Jesuit College of Canopoleno, constructed between late 16th and early 17th centuries under Archbishop Antonio Canopolo's direction.

The gallery displays the largest collection of Giovanni Marghinotti works in Sardinia, alongside pieces from prominent regional artists like Giuseppe Biasi and Stanis Dessy.

Visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday to Sunday between 9:00 and 18:00, with specific Sunday schedules and Monday closures throughout the year.

The collection features a remarkable 13th-century polychrome wooden crucifix, representing one of the oldest religious artifacts in the museum's permanent exhibition.
