Maritime Museum of Cesenatico, Maritime museum in Cesenatico, Italy.
The Maritime Museum of Cesenatico displays traditional fishing boats and maritime objects in both indoor galleries and floating outdoor sections along Porto Canale. The collection also includes ancient anchors and other items that record the daily work of fishermen from different eras.
The museum was founded in 1983 to preserve the naval heritage of the Adriatic coast. Its collection includes around ten historical fishing boats spanning the last two centuries.
Two sunken vessels from the 1600s illustrate how shipbuilding methods evolved along the Adriatic coast and reveal the materials that craftsmen once relied on.
The museum sits along Porto Canale, where visitors can explore both the indoor exhibitions and the outdoor boats. Wearing comfortable shoes is helpful since walking between different sections follows the path along the water.
During the Christmas season, the harbor transforms into a Maritime Nativity scene with life-size figures positioned on historical boats. The illuminated displays create a special festive setting that lines the waterway.
