Grattacielo Marinella, Rationalist skyscraper in Milano Marittima, Italy.

Grattacielo Marinella is a rationalist skyscraper that rises in Milano Marittima, combining retail spaces on the ground level with apartments and hotel rooms above. The structure uses modern elevator systems designed to serve the various functions within the building.

Engineer Eugenio Berardi designed this concrete structure, completed in 1957. The project marked the beginning of modern development along the Cervia coast and introduced new building standards to the region.

The building reflects the post-war desire to modernize the coastline, visible in its clean form and functional design. It stands apart from older structures in the area, showing how the region wanted to transform itself.

The building is easy to locate due to its distinctive vertical form visible from many directions in the area. Inside, shops, hotels, and restaurants welcome daytime visitors, while residential areas occupy the upper levels.

The structure was equipped with an innovative food elevator system specifically designed to deliver groceries and supplies directly to residential units. This technical feature was a notable solution for daily life in a high-rise residential setting when it was completed.
