Palazzo Acciaiuoli, Renaissance palazzo in historic center, Florence, Italy
Palazzo Acciaiuoli is a Renaissance mansion in the historic center of Florence, located near Lungarno degli Acciaiuoli, which connects Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita along the Arno River. The building spans three stories and sits at Borgo Santi Apostoli 10, near the Santissimi Apostoli Church.
The palace was founded in 1341 by Niccolò Acciaiuoli, who served as Grand Seneschal and Prime Minister of Florence. The tower is among the oldest remaining private structures in the city, having endured destruction through the centuries.
The palazzo displays Renaissance features with stone detailing set against light plaster surfaces across its facade. The building reflects the wealth and influence the Acciaiuoli family held in Florence during their prominent years.
The building is located at Borgo Santi Apostoli 10, just a short walk from Piazza del Limbo in central Florence. The site is easily accessible on foot and sits near other significant landmarks along the river corridor.
The tower of this building is the tallest privately owned structure in Florence and survived World War II bombing. This tall structure is a rare example of private architecture that withstood historical destruction.
