Palazzo Buondelmonti, Medieval palace in Piazza Santa Trinita, Florence, Italy

Palazzo Buondelmonti is a Renaissance palace on Piazza Santa Trinita with three main floors and an attic story. The facade features seven large arched windows framed by stone moldings, with rusticated stonework emphasizing the corners.

The building changed hands several times before the Buondelmonti family acquired it in 1517 and completed the present facade in 1525. It later became the seat of an important literary center that attracted writers and intellectuals.

The palace served as a gathering place for artists and thinkers from across Italy who shaped the city's cultural life. Visitors today can sense the intellectual energy that once filled its rooms and corridors.

The building stands on one of Florence's main squares with good access by tram and several bus stops nearby. The area has many restaurants, cafes, and shops, with several museums and churches within easy walking distance.

Two commemorative plaques on the facade mark two different historical connections of the building. One honors a famous Renaissance poet who stayed here, while the other marks the founding of the literary salon.
