Palazzo Comunale

The Palazzo Comunale is a medieval civic building in San Gimignano with multiple floors containing frescoed chambers and decorated spaces. The interior courtyard features coats of arms and a stepped gallery that once served as a platform for public announcements.

Construction of the building started in the late 13th century and reused existing older structures as its foundation. Throughout the 14th century, the palace expanded with new rooms and artistic decorations added progressively.
