Parco della Lambretta, Urban park in Lambrate district, Milan, Italy
Parco della Lambretta is an urban green space in the Lambrate neighborhood, featuring open lawns, tree-lined walkways, and an artificial lake with a monumental fountain at its center. The grounds are connected by pedestrian and bicycle paths, with six children's playgrounds and two dedicated dog areas spread throughout.
The site was originally an industrial factory complex operated by Innocenti and Maserati before being converted into a green space project in 1997. The park opened to the public in 2004, marking the transformation from manufacturing hub to recreational area.
The name honors the Lambretta scooter that was once built in this location, connecting visitors to Milan's industrial heritage. Walking through the grounds today, you can sense how this place once buzzed with factory activity.
Visit during the day when all areas are well-lit and the playgrounds are accessible for families. Bring a bicycle to move easily between different sections, as the grounds are designed for both walking and cycling.
The park sits beneath a major highway viaduct, an unusual urban feature that is softened by plantings of different tree varieties. This distinctive setting demonstrates how the city cleverly integrated recreation into a once-overlooked industrial corner.
