Parco delle Bertone, Woodland garden in Goito, Italy.
Parco delle Bertone is a woodland park near Mantua featuring winding paths through old trees, a small pond, and three preserved 19th-century buildings including a villa and stables. The layout blends forest landscape with restored historic structures throughout.
The estate originated as hunting grounds for the Gonzaga family and passed to the De Bertoni family in the 16th century. Later, Count D'Arco converted it into a summer residence.
The park has been home to a white stork reintroduction program since 1994, with nests visible high in the treetops. Visitors walking through can spot these birds, giving the space special ecological meaning.
The park is accessible from March to November with walking trails, a pond, and restored stables featuring an audiovisual room for events. Wear sturdy shoes since paths vary in condition depending on the season.
A Ginkgo biloba tree reaching about 40 meters tall and estimated at 200 years old stands as one of the most striking specimens across the grounds. This tree is an impressive feature that many visitors pass by.
