Palazzo Gio Battista Spinola, Renaissance palace in Via Garibaldi, Genoa, Italy
The palace exhibits a symmetrical facade with three floors, featuring ornate stone decorations, balconies, and a central entrance portal on Via Garibaldi.
Brothers Giambattista and Andrea Spinola commissioned the construction of the palace in 1563, with architect Bernardino Cantone leading the project until 1567.
The palace stands as part of the Palazzi dei Rolli system, which accommodated distinguished guests during state visits to the Republic of Genoa.
The exterior and selected interior sections of the palace remain open for viewing, with guided tours available through local tourism organizations.
The piano nobile contains Andrea Semino's fresco depicting Obertus Spinola's diplomatic mission to Emperor Frederik I Barbarossa.
