Bosco delle Querce, Regional park in Meda and Seveso, Italy.
Bosco delle Querce is a regional park covering 43 hectares across Meda and Seveso at 210 meters above sea level. The area divides into five sections with mixed woodland of oaks, pines, birches, hornbeams, and willows, alongside recreational and protected zones.
The site became a regional park in 2005 following an environmental restoration project that addressed damage from a serious incident in 1976. This reclamation effort transformed the previously contaminated land into a working forest.
The park serves as a gathering space where locals walk, observe wildlife, and connect with the natural world on a regular basis. You will notice different plant communities and animals that thrive in this restored woodland setting.
The five sections each have different character, so exploring all areas helps you experience the full range of what the park offers. Wear suitable footwear for walking, as the paths wind through natural terrain.
The woodland was artificially created but designed to look and function like a natural forest, which many visitors do not realize. This reconstruction demonstrates how damaged land can be returned to support a living ecosystem.
