Orrido di Botri, Nature reserve in Province of Lucca, Italy

The Orrido di Botri features a deep limestone canyon with vertical walls carved by water erosion, creating narrow passages throughout the reserve.

The Italian government established this protected natural area in 1971, recognizing its geological importance and need for environmental conservation.

Local naturalists conduct research in the reserve to study the population of royal eagles, wolves, and numerous plant species native to the region.

Visitors can join guided tours from June to September, with equipment provided at the information center in Ponte a Gaio for 14 euros per adult.

The water-carved gorge contains multiple caves and passages where adventurers wade through shallow streams while observing rare geological formations.
