Nostra Signora della Rosa, Minor basilica and shrine in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy
The Nostra Signora della Rosa features a baroque facade with twin columns and statues of apostles Peter and Paul near Piazza Caprera.
Construction began in 1658 on the site of a 13th-century religious building, and the church received its basilica status from Pope Pius XII in 1951.
The wooden image of Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus and a rose, dating from 1311, rests in a marble tabernacle above the main altar.
The church opens daily for visitors and holds religious ceremonies, with the main entrance located at Via della Vittoria 1 in Santa Margherita Ligure.
Under the main altar lies a water basin considered miraculous by local residents according to long-standing community traditions.
