Region IX is an archaeological sector in Pompeii containing numerous excavated buildings such as workshops, homes, and shops. These structures are connected by ancient Roman streets and passages that reveal how the city was laid out and used.

The sector was built over several periods with the oldest structures dating to the 4th century BCE before the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE buried the city. The buildings show how the area developed and changed through time.

The wall paintings and inscriptions throughout Region IX show scenes of daily life, trade activities, and social interactions of Pompeii's inhabitants. These details allow visitors to glimpse personal moments and economic practices from ancient times.

Region IX covers the central part of Pompeii, bounded by Via di Nola to the north, Via dell'Abbondanza to the south and Via Stabiana to the west. Its eastern edge is still undefined, because that stretch of the city has not yet been excavated. The sector is divided into fourteen insulae, or city blocks.
