Torre di Capo d'Uomo

The Torre di Capo d'Uomo stands 350 meters above sea level, featuring a quadrangular base and stone walls overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The Aldobrandeschi family constructed this defensive structure during the 15th century, before their territories became part of the Republic of Siena.

The tower served as a crucial communication point in the defense system of the Presidii State, using light signals to connect with neighboring towers.

Visitors can access the tower ruins via the panoramic road along the western coast of Monte Argentario, between Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole.

From this elevation, the view extends across the Maremma coast to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri, with Corsica visible on clear days.
