Villa Margon

Villa Margon is a manor house on the hillside above Ravina, featuring rooms that are entirely decorated with Renaissance wall paintings. The building sits beneath old trees with connected gardens that look out toward the surrounding countryside.

The house was built in the 1540s by a Venetian family and later served as a residence during the Council of Trent period. The building and its artistic decoration came into being during a time of major diplomatic importance for the region.

The interior walls feature frescoes depicting Emperor Charles V's life, biblical stories, and the full yearly cycle of farm work. These paintings tell stories from the Renaissance period and show what mattered most to the family who owned the place.
