The villa was acquired in the early 1600s by the Cybo-Malaspina noble family, marking their influence in the region. Later it served as a working farm before becoming home to a notable European figure who brought it back into prominence.

The building shows features from Genoese and Roman traditions visible in its design and layout. These influences shaped how the villa looks and how people understood fine architecture in this region.

The property is currently not open to visitors and sits in poor condition due to ongoing legal matters. You can view the exterior from the nearby path, though access to the grounds is not permitted.

The estate was not always a noble residence but served as farmland for several generations before returning to aristocratic hands. This period of rural working life left its mark on the grounds and structure.
