The Santa Rita Basilica features a white travertine facade from Tivoli and follows a centralized layout in the shape of a Greek cross.
The first stone of the basilica was placed on June 20, 1937, by Cardinal Enrico Gasparri, with construction completing in 1947.
The portal contains sculptures by Eros Pellini depicting scenes from Santa Rita's life, while the interior displays frescoes by multiple Italian artists.
The basilica maintains regular visiting hours and welcomes pilgrims who come to see the relics of Saint Rita of Cascia throughout the year.
The main altar, created by Giacomo Manzù, stands as a central feature in this modern architectural structure designed by Spirito Maria Chiappetta.
