The Natural History Museum Francesco Minà Palumbo presents extensive collections of flora, fauna, geology, and industrial archaeology from the Madonie region.
Francesco Minà Palumbo, born in 1814, dedicated his life to exploring and documenting the natural sciences across the Madonie territory until 1899.
The museum contains over 30,000 specimens, including a historical herbarium with 7,000 dried plants collected between 1834 and 1874.
Located in a former convent at Piazza San Francesco 3, the museum offers guided tours and educational programs for visitors of all ages.
The entomological collection features 3,500 specimens in 78 cases, including the rare beetle species Osmoderma cristina native to this region.
