Villa Marcello, 16th century private villa in Levada di Piombino Dese, Italy

Villa Marcello is a 16th-century residence in Levada di Piombino Dese near Padua that combines Venetian architectural elements with carefully designed interior spaces. The building features extensive gardens and rooms decorated with stucco work and wall paintings depicting historical scenes.

The Marcello family, who arrived in Venice during the 7th century, built this residence in the 1500s. During the 1700s, major renovations transformed the property into its current form.

The main hall displays frescoes depicting Alexander the Great, painted to celebrate the marriage of a family member named Alessandra. This decoration blends classical history with personal family tradition.

The residence opens only for pre-arranged visits organized for private groups. Visitors need to contact ahead to schedule a tour.

The current owner, Jacopo Marcello, personally conducts tours and shares stories about an ancestor, a naval commander who became famous for leading battles even after his death. These tales connect the aristocratic past with visitors' present experience.
