Villa Fontanelle

Villa Fontanelle is a four-story neoclassical mansion sitting directly on Lake Como's shoreline. The estate includes ornamental gardens, several guest cottages, a private boat dock, and grounds that stretch along the water's edge.

A British lord had the villa built in the early 1800s after discovering Lake Como. Decades later, an Italian fashion designer purchased it and redesigned the interiors to reflect neoclassical style.

The name comes from the fountains and water features that once defined the grounds. Inside, you can see grand rooms filled with art collections and classical architectural details that reflect refined taste.

The property sits along the main road between Como and Bellagio, with direct lakeside access. Wear comfortable shoes for walking the gardens and allow time to explore the multiple rooms inside the mansion.

The estate changed hands to a Russian restaurant mogul in 2008, marking a significant shift in its use and purpose. Today it serves as a venue for special events, transforming the mansion into an active gathering place.
