Il Giardino della Valle

Il Giardino della Valle is a restored garden in Cernobbio featuring over 130 plant species, wooden bridges, ponds, and sculptures situated along the Garrovo stream near Villa d'Este. The space combines natural elements with carefully placed artistic details throughout.

During the 1980s, Ida Lonati Frati transformed an illegal dumping ground into a garden, dedicating eighteen years to its environmental restoration. This transformation marks the shift from decay to renewal at this location.

The garden includes several reading spots with book exchange libraries where visitors can relax by the flowing stream. These areas show how the place functions today as a quiet retreat for the community.

The garden is located at Via Monte Santo 5 and welcomes visitors year-round. Cultural events are organized each spring, offering additional reasons to visit.

Since 2003, the Cernobbio Municipality plants a tree each year and dedicates a poem to each child born the previous year. This tradition creates a special place of memory and growth for the community.
