Villa Allamel, Private villa in Cernobbio, Italy
Villa Allamel is a three-story residence with a C-shaped structure positioned at the waterfront of Cernobbio. The property extends across multiple levels and features a garden overlooking Lake Como.
The building was constructed in 1846 by a Milanese baron and changed ownership multiple times throughout the 19th century. The Allamel family later acquired the property and gave it the name it carries today.
The villa gardens contain numerous plant species including beech trees, cedars, mimosas, magnolias, and traditional lake vegetation such as Lagerstroemia and Pittosporum.
The villa underwent major renovation work between 2013 and 2016 and was restored to modern standards. The property includes a garden space that deserves time to explore during a visit.
The property houses a custom-built elevator made of iron and mahogany that was installed in 1923. This feature demonstrates how early modern technology was incorporated into historic lakeside buildings.
