Palazzo San Crispino, Neoclassical palace in Piazza Trento e Trieste, Ferrara, Italy

The palace features marble medallions on its facade depicting notable figures from Ferrara, including the central portrait of poet Ludovico Ariosto.

The building traces its origins to 776 when Emperor Charlemagne granted land to the Shoemakers' Guild in appreciation for their crafted footwear.

From 1461 to 1567, the palace served as the Faculty of Letters for the University of Ferrara before transforming into an oratory.

The palace houses a bookshop and commercial spaces following extensive renovations that preserved its sixteenth-century wooden ceiling and medieval workshop elements.

During the 1627 ghetto period, the palace hosted mandatory Christian sermons for Jewish residents, leading to the creation of discrete access points.
