Palazzo comunale, Gothic-Renaissance town hall in Ferrara, Italy
The Palazzo Comunale features a monumental entrance with two bronze equestrian statues and connects to Castello Estense through a covered walkway.
Construction of the palace began in 1245 along Via Cortevecchia and reached its final dimensions between 1472 and 1481 under the Este family rule.
The Sala dell'Arengo contains frescoes painted by Achille Funi between 1934 and 1938, depicting scenes from Ferrara's mythology and history.
The municipal offices inside the palace open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 13:00, with extended hours on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
The Camerino delle Duchesse preserves late 16th-century decorations in a small room originally designated for noblewomen Eleonora and Lucrezia d'Este.
