Castello Visconteo

The castle features three distinct courtyards surrounded by fortified walls, with each section containing independent entrances and defensive towers with spiral staircases.

Originally constructed in the 13th century, the castle expanded in 1448 when Francesco and Guido Visconti sought protection during conflicts with the Ambrosian Republic.

The castle displays collections of 16th-century Spanish arms, armor, and contains 360 preserved bird specimens in its ornithological museum section.

Guided tours operate from April through October on weekends and holidays, with morning sessions from 10:00 to 11:30 and afternoon visits from 14:30 to 18:30.

The main floor presents early 17th-century frescoes depicting mythological scenes, complemented by a chapel containing an oil painting attributed to Cerano.
