Santuario Maria Santissima dello Splendore

The sanctuary rises on a hill at the northern summit of Giulianova, featuring a single-nave basilica layout with travertine walls and marble altars.

The sanctuary originated from an event in 1557 when a farmer named Bertolino reported seeing the Virgin Mary amid light in an olive tree.

Each year on April 22, the local population gathers at the sanctuary to commemorate the apparition with religious ceremonies and celebrations.

The church maintains regular visiting hours and contains a sacred water source located near the main altar, which remains active since its discovery.

The interior houses a 15th-century polychrome wooden statue of the Madonna dello Splendore and a 16th-century Paolo Veronese painting in its sacristy.
