Castle

Castle is a medieval fortress in Soiano del Lago situated at 198 meters (650 feet) above sea level. The structure features high stone walls and overlooks the Valtenesi hills and the Lake Garda region.

Construction began in the tenth century, built upon the remains of an earlier fortification. The original entrance was positioned beneath a tower that was later repurposed as a bell tower.

The castle now houses a music school and serves as a venue for concerts and performances throughout the year. Visitors can experience how this medieval structure has transformed into a living cultural space where modern artistic events take place within historic walls.

Access to the castle begins from Piazza Umberto I, where visitors can explore the medieval structure and its surroundings. The elevated location provides excellent views of the surrounding landscape and is ideal for photography and observation.

The fortress sits along the Wine and Flavors Route of Lake Garda, a path connecting medieval sites with local food and wine traditions. This positioning links the castle to the region's culinary heritage in a way that most visitors discover during their exploration.
