Villa Magnani

Villa Magnani, Baroque revival villa in Mamiano of Traversetolo, Italy

Villa Magnani is a baroque revival residence in Mamiano di Traversetolo with three levels, a symmetrical main facade, and a grand central staircase. The property includes a greenhouse with large windows facing the park that serves as a space for temporary exhibitions.

The original building was constructed in the 17th century for the Sforza di Santafiora counts, with documented records dating back to 1632. Over subsequent centuries, the residence changed hands several times before becoming an art museum.

The villa houses the Magnani-Rocca Foundation, which displays works by Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Goya, Titian, and Dürer. The collection reflects how the family cultivated a deep passion for European art and shared it with visitors over time.

The park features well-maintained paths and is open year-round, making it ideal for a leisurely walk after exploring the interior. The grounds offer shaded areas where visitors can rest and enjoy the surroundings at their own pace.

The grounds were designed in the romantic style and feature a restored lake along with rare plants from around the world. The mature trees and water create a natural habitat where visitors can spot various bird species during their walk.
