Villa Sacro Cuore, Religious villa in Tregasio, Italy
Villa Sacro Cuore is a religious estate in Triuggio with a four-story central building and two lower wings that frame an entrance courtyard. The entire site is surrounded by extensive parkland and gardens that set the complex within a quiet environment.
The current building dates to 1922 and was constructed under engineer Spirito Maria Chiappetta's direction, replacing an earlier structure. The original construction on this site dates back to the 16th century, when the Morigia family owned the land.
The complex holds four chapels that reflect different building periods and represent the work of multiple generations. Today these spaces serve as places for reflection and prayer within the property's larger structure.
The estate is located at Via Sacro Cuore 7 and is managed by the Archdiocese of Milan, so visiting is connected to the activities held there. It is wise to check ahead about access, as this is an active spiritual center.
A statue of the Sacred Heart measuring 4.80 meters tall crowns the main building and was installed during the 1922 opening. This distinctive figure is visible from many points within the grounds and shapes the property's overall appearance.
