Villa Taverna

Villa Taverna is a noble residence with a U-shaped structure featuring large fireplaces, fountains, and spacious rooms throughout. The original garden from the 16th century remains on the grounds and follows the classical Italian style of that period.

Powerful Count Francesco Taverna, Chancellor of the Duchy of Milan, acquired this residence in 1525. Over the following centuries, the villa underwent modifications and expansions while keeping its core structure intact.

The villa served as an important residence for the Taverna family, one of Milan's prominent noble families during the Renaissance. The rooms and gardens show how wealthy families of that era chose to live and display their status.

The property offers parking areas and an on-site restaurant for visitors. Guided tours can be arranged through the municipal Culture Office, and the ground floor is accessible for those who need it.

The entrance pillars display classical statues representing Autumn and Spring, marking the transition between the outside world and the villa grounds. These figures are rare examples of sculptural work from that period.
