Montestrutto Castle

The castle rises on a rocky outcrop above Settimo Vittone, featuring a central ninth-century tower complemented by neo-Gothic architectural elements from later periods.

Originally constructed as a defensive tower for a Benedictine monastery, the structure underwent multiple destructions and reconstructions between the sixteenth and twentieth centuries.

The castle served as a gathering place for musicians in the 1920s, hosting violin master Rosario Scalero and his students, including composer Leonard Bernstein.

Located 50 kilometers north of Turin, the castle now functions as tourist accommodation, offering visitors an opportunity to stay within historical medieval walls.
