War memorial, War memorial in Piazza Vittoria, Treviso, Italy
The Victory Monument features a 22-meter column made of golden Trani stone, crowned by a bronze sculpture representing triumph in air, land, and sea.
The memorial, designed by architect Cesare Bazzani through a national competition, opened on October 30, 1932, marking the tenth anniversary of the fascist revolution.
The side blocks display relief sculptures by Bernardino Boifava depicting four stages of heroic life: attack, defense, sacrifice, and triumph.
The monument includes an internal spiral staircase leading to the top of the column, allowing visitors to reach the summit at 32 meters height.
Two fountains flank the memorial, symbolizing the sacrifice of victory, while a bronze-studded iron gate leads to a votive chapel.
