Art Aia-Creatives / In / Residence, International art residency in Sesto al Reghena, Italy
Art Aia-Creatives / In / Residence is an international artist studio in Sesto al Reghena where creative practitioners and collectives work and conduct research. The location combines artistic production with sustainable practices in a historic building in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
The building was constructed in the 18th century by the Counts Bion of Padua and later belonged to the Abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis. Before becoming an arts center, it served for many years as an agricultural facility.
The center draws artists from different fields who work with photography, drawings, sculptures, and textiles during their time here. The interactions between creative practitioners and local people shape the daily life of the project.
The center is open Wednesday through Sunday between 9 AM and 5 PM for visitors. Individual artists and creative groups can enroll in structured programs that run for several weeks or months.
The center operates a sister program in Berlin called La Dolce Berlin where artists also work and produce films. This international connection allows for exchange of creative practice between Italy and Germany.
