Santa Maria in Bressanoro, Renaissance church in Castelleone, Italy.

Santa Maria in Bressanoro is a church in Castelleone featuring an octagonal central dome and four smaller cupolas arranged in a Greek cross layout. Terracotta decorations cover the exterior and contribute to the building's unified artistic appearance.

Construction began between 1460 and 1465 under the patronage of Bianca Maria Visconti, establishing a new religious center in the former Duchy of Milan. A Portuguese nobleman founded the sanctuary after his conversion to Catholicism, shaping its early purpose.

The interior walls display extensive frescoes from the 15th century showing scenes from Christ's life, with a Crucifixion scene above the triumphal arch serving as a focal point. These painted narratives shape how visitors experience the sacred space and reflect the religious devotion of the period.

The church is located on Via Santa Maria in Castelleone and is accessible via the Paullese route from Milan toward Cremona province. Visitors should check local access conditions before planning their visit to ensure smooth arrival.

A Portuguese nobleman named Amadeo Menez de Silva founded this sanctuary following his conversion to Catholicism and established it as a center for the Amadeite Order. This unusual founding story gives the place distinctive spiritual significance beyond its architectural features.
