The church stands on Via Santa Maria in Castelleone, accessible by taking the Paullese route from Milan toward the Cremona province.
Portuguese nobleman Amadeo Menez de Silva founded this sanctuary after his conversion to Catholicism, establishing it as a center for the Amadeite Order.
