Caserma IV Novembre is a three-story military building along Via delle Fiamme Gialle with two lateral wings enclosing a spacious central courtyard. The structure follows a rationalist architectural style and now houses the headquarters of the Economic-Financial Police School of Lido di Ostia.
Giuseppe Boni designed the building, which opened on November 4, 1936, initially serving as a boarding school for orphans and children of government employees. After its founding, it evolved into a facility focused on maritime training and naval preparation.
The interior walls display maritime-themed frescoes painted by Lorenzo Viani in 1936, reflecting the building's connection to naval education. These artistic works continue to shape the character of the complex today.
The building is located at Via delle Fiamme Gialle 14 and is now a government facility that allows limited public visits. The rational, symmetrical layout makes orientation within the complex intuitive and easy to navigate.
A concrete training ship named Santa Maria stands in the garden and was previously used for maritime instruction at the adjacent nautical college. This unusual training object is a rare example of maritime practices within a land-based complex.
