Santa Maria del Soccorso

The church features stone walls, a central portal, and a rose window centered along its exterior facade, reflecting religious architectural elements.

Following the appearance of a Virgin image on an olive press wall, construction began in 1469 and concluded with the church opening in 1472.

The church received recognition as Italian national heritage, preserving religious and architectural elements from the 15th century construction period.

Located near the monumental cemetery outside L'Aquila city walls, visitors can reach the church through the restored Porta Leone entrance.

The interior layout follows an uncommon Greek cross design without a central reference point, creating a pronounced sense of length.
