L'Aquila Temporary Concert Hall

The elliptical auditorium spans 25 meters on each side, featuring a pyramid roof supported by 44 pillars and walls made of clay bags and cardboard.

Following the 2009 earthquake, the Japanese government funded this concert hall designed by Shigeru Ban as a symbol of international support for L'Aquila's recovery.

The venue hosts concerts, workshops, and masterclasses next to the Conservatory Alfredo Casella, forming a central hub for musical education and performances.

The concert hall accommodates 230 seats and is located in the Acquasanta district, near the L'Aquila Est motorway exit for convenient access.

Students from L'Aquila University, Harvard, and Keio University collaborated in constructing this 700-square-meter structure, which cost 620,000 euros.
