The Stadio Gran Sasso d'Italia-Italo Acconcia in L'Aquila has a total capacity of 6,970 all-seater places, though its 2019 homologation limits attendance to 6,100. The two grandstands have seats with backrests, while the south curve has simpler seats; red and blue seats dominate, with white seats forming lettering. The north curve, for away fans, is a fully metal structure.

After the 2009 earthquake that struck L'Aquila, the stadium grounds served temporarily as an emergency tent camp for residents from nearby neighborhoods. The facility became essential in supporting those affected during the disaster.

The stadium is named after the Gran Sasso d'Italia massif, a title confirmed by a public vote of local supporters, and since 2016 also after Italo Acconcia, an Aquila-born midfielder of the 1940s and 1950s who later coached Italy's youth national teams. The first official match, on 4 September 2016 against Nuova Monterosi in Serie D, ended in a draw before 1,500 spectators.

The stadium sits in the Acquasanta district, east of the historic centre near the monumental cemetery and close to the Tommaso Fattori stadium. All sectors, including the away north curve, are raised above the pitch and separated by a 1.10 m parapet under the CONI "Stadi senza barriere" scheme. The west stand's upper tier is split into the Paolo Rossi, Centrale and Laterale sections.

The first international match here was played on 11 November 2021, when Italy and France under-18s met; France won 3-0. Two days later the teams met again and Italy won 2-1 under coach Daniele Franceschini. The west stand's press cabin is named after journalist Alessandro Orsini.
