Casa museo Ivan Bruschi, museal institution in Tuscany

Casa museo Ivan Bruschi is a house museum in a restored medieval palazzo in central Arezzo displaying the personal collection of an antique dealer. The exhibition spans sixteen rooms across three floors and holds paintings, sculptures, ancient bronze figures, ivory carvings, jewelry, weapons, and ceramics from different periods.

The building was originally a medieval palazzo that was damaged during the Second World War and later restored. After Ivan Bruschi died in 1996, he left instructions for his collection to become a public museum, which opened to the public in 2002.

The museum sits in a historic palazzo near the Pieve di Santa Maria, a key landmark in central Arezzo. The arrangement of objects reflects how a collector valued items from different periods, showing the city's connection to its artistic and craft heritage.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and offers ground-floor access without stairs, though some areas may have limited accessibility. Take your time moving through the space and notice the details of each object, as slow viewing enhances understanding of the displayed works.

The collection includes rare Tanagra figurines from antiquity and intricate ivory carvings from the workshop of the Embriachi family, Renaissance masters of carved work. These special pieces showcase craftsmanship skills that are rarely seen today.
