La Bollente

La Bollente is a natural hot spring located in the town center of Acqui Terme that discharges mineral-rich water at 75 degrees Celsius (167 Fahrenheit) through an octagonal marble structure. The water flows continuously throughout the year without interruption.

The Romans discovered this thermal source around 172 BC and named the settlement Aquae Statiellae, establishing it as a bathing center of importance. The continuous use of this location has shaped the town across many centuries.

You can collect the mineral water directly from the spring free of charge every day of the year without entrance fees or reservations. The spring is accessible during daylight hours and draws more visitors during warm months.

The water emerging from underground carries unusual concentrations of sulfur, bromine, and iodine that give it distinctive healing properties. These rare minerals make the spring valued differently than ordinary thermal water found elsewhere.
