Teatro Akropolis operates in a converted space within the Gramsci-Volta school complex, featuring a modular structure that accommodates 200 spectators.
The theatre group began in 2001 under the name WalterSteiner, focusing on performance arts research and examining pre-literary origins of theatre.
The venue organizes the international festival 'Testimonianze ricerca azioni', which presents performances, workshops, and seminars exploring contemporary theatrical expressions.
The theatre offers free training courses in partnership with the Order of Journalists of Liguria and maintains regular programming throughout the year.
Teatro Akropolis received the Ubu Prize for special projects in 2017 and presented their documentary film at the Venice Biennale in 2022.
