Pieve di Sant'Andrea

The stone church features three naves divided by columns and sturdy pillars supporting rounded arches that extend throughout the building structure.

Built in the 11th century on the site of an earlier Christian construction, the church incorporates stone fragments from the 8th century in its external walls.

The interior contains frescoes from the 12th to 15th centuries, including a Universal Judgment painting attributed to Maestro Cicogna of the Verona region.

Located at Via Guastalla 2 in Sommacampagna, the church maintains its religious function while serving as a cemetery chapel since the 16th century.

Archaeological excavations revealed a Roman stele with an inscription dedicated to the goddess Leituria, indicating the presence of a pagan temple at this location.
