Torre di Longonsardo, Military tower and museum in Santa Teresa Gallura, Italy.
The cylindrical granite tower rises 11 meters high with a base diameter of 19 meters, standing on a rocky promontory overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio.
King Philip II of Spain ordered the construction of this defense tower in 1577 to protect the harbor against raids from Barbary pirates.
The Municipality of Santa Teresa Gallura displays the tower on its official banner, representing the strong connection between the structure and local identity.
Visitors can explore the tower daily from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with an exhibition about Sardinian coastal towers inside.
The structure includes an original rainwater collection system and a surrounding wall, with remnants of both features still visible at the site.
