Villa di Meleto, Renaissance villa in Certaldo, Italy.

Villa di Meleto is a Renaissance residence on a hilltop near Certaldo, built with symmetrical architecture and elaborate stone carvings. The gardens are laid out in geometric patterns and overlook the Tuscan countryside stretching beyond.

The residence was built in the 15th century and later owned by different noble families who made changes to it over time. Despite these alterations, the original Renaissance architectural features remained intact throughout the centuries.

The rooms inside display furnishings and artworks that show how wealthy Tuscan families lived during that era. Walking through them, you notice the careful choices in decoration that reveal the refined way of life of the aristocracy.

Guided tours are available from Tuesday through Sunday and should be arranged beforehand. Groups of more than eight people need to book in advance.

From the elevated terraces and garden paths, you can watch the landscape colors change with each season passing through. These shifting views reveal how the Tuscan hills transform from summer warmth to winter rest.
