Saint Verdiana church

The sanctuary was constructed to preserve the remains of Saint Verdiana, who spent thirty-four years as a recluse in a cell within the original church structure.

The church incorporates elements from the former Oratory of Sant'Antonio and maintains the cell where Saint Verdiana lived, making it central to local religious traditions.

Located at Via Timignano 1, the sanctuary remains open daily from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, with guided tours available through the Castelfiorentino tourism office.

According to local accounts, two snakes entered Saint Verdiana's cell and remained with her until death, leading to their inclusion in artistic depictions throughout the church.
